What made you want to DJ?
I got into underground music from a young age, but was too young to go to parties. At the time it was all about pirate radio and tape packs for me. I felt gutted that I could hear all these wicked tracks on radio and all the vibe on the tape packs and I couldn’t experience any of it! So I guess it was just to do with me trying to feel connected to part of that scene (even though I was nowhere near it!). My first turntables were a 15th birthday present. I sat on the floor (didn’t have a table for them), figured them out and haven’t looked back since!

What was the first track you bought specifically to DJ with?
Modjo – Lady (some white label garage dubby remix)

Everybody wants to be a DJ these days. What ignites your passion to continue, despite the competitiveness within club culture?
Competitiveness can be healthy! It would be too easy otherwise and most things would be luke warm. For a producer, they have their own tools (samples, synth, fx etc) and they use their creativity to build a track. DJing is the same really, except our tools are the tracks themselves, our equipment, and again, our creativity. No one DJ set is the same. The ability to control a crowd with your own personality through tune selection and mixing is a wicked feeling. Thats what keeps me going.

If you could go back in time and be involved in the club scene of any era, when would this be and why?
I would have liked to be old enough to be involved in the Jungle scene in the early 90’s and then follow it through to the London Sunday scene. Mostly for the vibes and the crowd. All people of all ages from all different backgrounds coming together for the love of music. No bad attitude, no negativeness, and great tunes. What more could you want?!

Who would be your dream guest on your show?
Kerri Chandler. Great producer, and you know the guy would have loads of stories to share on the show.

If you could go B2B with any DJ on the planet, who would it be and where?
Karizma…bad boy!

What was the last tune that was stuck in your head before this interview?
Cherie Lee – Love Me Or Leave Me (Club Dub)

If you could have made any of the the records you have played which one would it be and why?
