Getting D3EP with Andrea Fiorino…

How’s your 2017 been so far?
Quite good if we speak about music – some of the remixes I made during the last few years were finally released, I also celebrated 10th Anniversary of my radio show Mastermix in July. I played some cool open air gigs during the summer and I really enjoyed some festivals, 30 years of Southport Weekender in London where I met a lot of D3EP colleagues or Defected Croatia to name a few. And last but not least I rejoined with my old mate eL Jay, saxophonist and vocalist/MC, for some live gigs this autumn and it seems something big is going to happen in 2018!

Who has been your favourite producer this year?
It’s quite hard to name just one so here are few names I really like these days (in random order): Richard Earnshaw, Husky, Low Steppa, Angelo Ferreri, Ian Carrera, Sebb Junior… Also check out DJ Burlak, this Bulgarian guy knows how to make a proper sound!

Name a label that you really feel has pushed on this year?
I have to name two labels at this point: Angelo Ferreri’s Mood Funk Records – lots of great releases, perfect sound, really big thing in 2017 – and Husky’s Bobbin Head Music – not so many releases but every single one was fire this year, I’ve had everyone of them on my show.

What’s your favourite Genre/Subgenre that you don’t necessarily play?
There’s a lot of great music, I like anything from jazz, soul, funk, disco thru 80s and 90s pop/dance and hip-hop to many of contemporary genres. Andrea Fiorino doesn’t play all this stuff but his alter ego Mr. Boogaloo does! Don’t forget to check out some of the special episodes of Mastermix hosted by this naughty guy…

If you could eternally be stuck in one year’s music scene, which year would it be?
Another tricky question – 1996!

Linx Wallet Update…

If you have been using your Linx wallet here on D3EP you’ll be interested to know that they have just released a new desktop wallet for Mac, PC and Ubuntu. If you are already using the older version on your computer you will need to update it to the new version as the old wallet will stop working on Jan 2nd! You can download the latest version here – https://mylinx.io/downloads

If you are only using your LINX Wallet here on D3EP (and don’t have the wallet software installed on your computer) you don’t need to do anything, although we strongly suggest that you do install the wallet as it is a much more secure way of storing your coins.

We will be posting a tutorial in the new year showing you how to use it if this is still all new and confusing to you!

Until next week,
keep it D3EP!
